FINELIGHT, Bloomington, IN (November 2004 - Present)
Senior Interactive Art Director.
Proposal Phase. In this stage, the requirements analysis, use cases, and project estimates are addressed. Work with the Account Executive and Web Developer to decide the technical strategy, functional strategy, implementation process, development budget, and development schedule. Develop the proposal and estimate with input from copywriters, developers, account service and quality control.
Discovery Phase. Involved in meetings with key client representatives to determine project goals, objectives, audiences, marketplace competitors and other factors necessary to create a plan. Plan for how success is to be measured and make recommendations for evaluating return on investment and other research or testing opportunities, as needed. In this phase, a site audit is conducted along with a qualitative competitive analysis of competitor sites.
Planning Phase. Synthesize the information gathered in the discovery phase into elements useful for Web site development. Functional sitemaps, wireframes, target audience personas, voice maps, and feature lists are created during the information architecture stage. Recommendations for specific enhancements or audience-specific marketing are also made in this phase.
Design Phase. Concept and design interactive user experiences. Multiple audience-specific interfaces and navigation schemes are developed. When time and budget allow, chosen designs are tested with target audience members to determine their usability and effectiveness.
Production Phase. Produce all necessary templates graphics, widgets, Flash animation, XHTML, CSS and search engine optimization. Hand off to programmers for backend coding, database, application development and integration with the necessary CMS.
Testing Phase. Coordinate with quality control specialists to check every aspect of the Web site to make sure everything is working correctly before launch dates. The style guide, final case study and process document are written after the site has been launched.
Launch/Maintenance Phase. Work closely with the media department and clients in planning for and promoting a new Web site launch. Assist with PR initiatives and other marketing to draw in new audiences.
HELDDIEDRICH, Indianapolis, IN (December 1998 - November 2004)
Senior Art Director. Work included all forms of print communications, special packaging,
and multimedia communications. Concepted, developed and produced brand identities, logos,
print, and collateral campaigns. Concepted, developed, and produced web site and multimedia
presentations. Worked in a creative, collaborative environment, clearly articulating artistic
direction while managing and supervising Designers. Managed multiple clients and projects.
Responsible for presenting creative solutions to clients. Oversaw all aspects of each project
from start to finish. Ensured all print work was compliant with all prepress standards and met
vendor and client quality control.
SULLY'S DESIGN STUDIO, Indianapolis, IN (May 2003 - May 2006)
Owner. An award winning e-commerce site providing custom handmade products that include: jewelry,
children's illustrations, furniture, pet boutique gifts, invitations, greeting cards, and special
occasion gifts. From initial concept through the building and maintenance of the e-commerce website,
Sully's Design Studio became the online outlet for all sideline projects. Showcased in 2003 by the
Clothes for a Cause - Pink Ribbon Collection through Home Shopping Network.
